The Strange Behavior of Betelgeuse

Betelgeuse continues to dim and new images of Betelgeuse show that it is changing shape. The image was made in December 2019 at ESO’s Very Large Telescope. It does not appear that Betelgeuse will go supernova anytime soon, but these new images show that Betelgeuse is definitely undergoing some form of transformation. Regardless, Astronomers are still trying to determine what is actually happening to Betelgeuse.
